I'm a pretty young older person. I tend to be very open-minded and love to travel. In recent years, I made it to five different conferences - one in Berkeley, CA (four of the Ancestral Health Symposiums) and PrimalCon in Oxnard, CA. I have a married son in Colorado (they have two darling children) and another son in California who has a lovely wife. I love learning about health, environmentalism, gardening, yoga, CrossFit (I'm not so good - but love the intensity), dancing and singing. I've lived near Yosemite, on the beach, in New Hampshire, Colorado, Illinois... I actually moved around quite a bit through the years. I have studied various cultures and love inter-cultural and inter-generational communication.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and love to entertain. I am fascinated by people; I love a good conversation. Nothing is better than sitting around a campfire, while singing, dancing or just relaxing. Unless it's too hot... I break out the fire pit and let the flames lead us where they will.

Interests

I tend to be crazy creative - I do calligraphy (although not as much as in years past), same for watercolor and acrylics. I spend more time with my singing and piano, I also do woodworking; have built the tiny house (this is your 'couch'), furniture, tool sheds, and an addition (with help) on a small home I used to own near Boulder, CO. I also love gardening and have dabbled with hypertufa (look it up - you'll love it). I also like making things with leather and doing bookbinding. I also sew - but pretty much sew only things that are square (curtains, blankets, pillows, :-) .

Joni Mitchell ('saw her live late 2014 at her 71st birthday party at UCLA), Billy Joel, Heart, Anita O'Day, Diana Krall, Big Maybell, The Beatles, The Doors, Standards, Broadway, Opera, Rock, Jazz... 'just about everything. I recently performed at my 60th birthday party and had a great time singing and playing the piano. I own about 1,100 books, although I don't read as much anymore. 'Been busy with performing. I love Madmen, Downton Abby and Orange Is The New Black.

I think my education has been pretty amazing. It's very diverse, creative and fun.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn more about music; as well as teach what I know (I teach piano, improvisation and voice). I love to share a good walk in a park, trail, hillside or on the beach. There's a ton to share. I love to philosophize.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook; hang out; help in the kitchen; play some pieces on your piano or sing a few songs for you. I can share tips and ideas with gardening, calligraphy, stamp carving, and making greeting cards.
