About Me

Hi wonderful adventurous awesome people !

My name is Maryam (the arabic version of Mary, Marie, Marsha, Maria etc.) and I love traveling and exploring the world. I love being by the beach, hiking and camping. I fall in love with places where I can star-gaze. You'll always see me carying a good book, eventhough I'm a very slow reader! Ask me about what music I listen to, and I promise you'll be happy you asked.

I love dark chocolate, pizza, ice-cream, and movie-nights! No matter how low you're feeling, these are the best therapy ! along with other stuff like traveling of course... but hey if you're broke, that's your best go-to comfort: Movies !

So yeah I'm basically the typical college student that is constantly daydreaming of hopping on an airplane and exploring the world! I did some traveling before and can't wait to go on more trips and adventures ! I was twice an exchange student in the US in 2012-13 and 2017-18. I took advantage of every weekend and school break to travel around the US, and I have fallen so in love with its cities and wilderness! I have been to the UK once, to West Yorkshire area while working on a cultural project and got to visit Leeds multiple times. I can't get enough of traveling !

I am passionate about serving my community. I've done a lot of volunteer work, and nothing makes me happier than trying my best to make the world a slightly better place. In my hometown Ksar Hellal, Tunisia, I work with a cultural association called Apollon Association for the Arts and Culture, and we do lots of work to make arts part of our everyday lives. I care a lot about the environment and cannot tolerate the injustice that's happening to our planet. So let's all take a stand and be part of the positive change !

That being said, I think of the entire world as my home and I love being a global citizen!

I love making jokes, hearing jokes and laughing about jokes (good or lame, I'll laugh anyways) and being around good friends and good people. I love long walks, biking and visiting new places.

I have lots of dreams and ambitions and hope to be part of a generation that makes this world a happier better place!
