About Me

There are two things in my life which are the most impostant for me. The first one is my friends, for whom I'm ready to do everything. The second one is travelling. I think I inherited my love for travelling from my parents who spent almost 20 years before my birth paddling all over USSR. I always wanted to see as much as they did. Happily, my friends don't like to sit still too, so we spend a lot of time together finding new interesting places - in the world on holidays, in Russia during long weekends and in Moscow when we have only several hours. Our mutual passion for photography also motivates us to move and see more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We were planning our visit to the Netherlands, and my friend, Sophie, said: "If we see only Amsterdam, we won't see understand the whole country. Let's see more!". She suggested that we should go to the south of the country, and we chose Maastricht. "If we don't speak to the locals, it's not worth going there" - said Sophie, - "and it's better to stay at the locals. I heard something about couchsurfing...". At fisrt I doubted about everything - our safety, comfort, possibility to communicate easily to people we've never seen - but Sophie refused my doubts, and now I appreciate her.
It was a great experience! Our host, Frank, organised a big couchsurfing party. We helped him to decorate the house while he told us some stories about his travelling experience. In the evening he introduced us to his friends. There were about 10 people from all over the world - France, Brazil, India, Iraq... We spent great time discussing everything, dancing and eating national food.
After this trip I realized that it's much more interesting not only to see new places, but also to meet new people and share experience with them. So if I can help someone to see (and to fall in love with) Moscow, I really want to do it!v

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friend asked my to accompany him to "Crocodiliada" - an 2-day event organised in the wood located rather far from Moscow, whose main aim was a competition in orienteering. I've never done this before, I haven't even spend a night in a tent, but I thought it would be interesting.
As a result: we missed our train and we had to go by taxi - 4 guys with 4 big bagpacks; we almost got lost in the evening mist trying to find our camp; the next day we spent 9 hours on foot and tramped about 30 kilometres to complete a mission of orienteering, we ran through the woods, the fileds and even the bog; we ate food cooked on the fire, sang to the guitar and talked till 3 a.m..
Those were the 2 greatest days of my life.
