I recently graduated from University of Colorado Boulder with a major in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and a minor in Geography. I live and travel around in an 87 Dodge van that I converted with my dad last summer. I live to climb and hike and love to spend time in the backcountry. I am an avid skier, climber, backpacker, rafter, surfer, and sailer. Ive been living down in Mexico for the past few months on a sailboat with my dad. I have quite a bit of experience working with my hands, Ive done several carpentry jobs, painting, worked as a roustabout on an oil field, and many other odd jobs. Im friendly, easy-going, and love getting to know new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a great way to meet some locals and to get a little insider info on new places that I'm traveling. I love getting off of the beaten path and what better way to find the lightly trodden trails, than with the knowledge from locals!

Interests

I live to climb! All disciplines(Trad, Sport, Aid, Ice, Alpine). I'm always looking for climbing partners wherever I travel so long as they are safe and psyched! I also love to ski, I grew up skiing Alta and Snowbird Utah. I've spent a good deal of time backpacking and climbing in the backcountry of the High Sierras of California. Im planning of hiking a long route in the Sierra backcountry at the end of this summer. Im a big water fan having spent a good amount of time in and on the ocean and am a licensed rescue scuba diver.

Im always up for trying new things and meeting new people! I'd love to learn to dance although I'm usually a little spooked to get out on the dance floor.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books are A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold, The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac, and The Monkey Wrench Gang by Edward Abbey. My favorite movie is The Life Aquatic, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and 180 Degrees South. But there are tons of other books and movies that Im a fan of!
