I enjoy traveling and meeting local people, I'm guessing it might be the same for you. Sharing the city I live in, some culture, and my home, is a good thing to do. I've met really interesting and wonderful people on CS, and even though I/ we have yet to stay in a couchsurfers home, have visited cities where I met great people from CS meet ups! I've hosted 3-4 times, all positive experiences.

Too many movies, not enough books. For whatever reason I tend to gravitate towards dystopian themed films.
