ABOUT ME

I'm looking to share good times and mind expanding experiences - mostly of the meeting-new-people variety rather than the drugged-out-trippy variety.

PHILOSOPHY

Things generally work out alright after a long enough time. This is either very optimistic, or, since on a long enough time scale everything we do amounts to nothing, it's incredible nihilistic. The truth is probably somewhere in between.

Local gatherings - met good people.
Being hosted abroad - met more good people.
Hosting people at home - met still more good people.
So far, can't complain :)

兴趣

I am, at any given time, giving into one obsession or the other, such as reading, writing, playing guitar, catching up on or compulsively rewatching tv shows, or, when that's over with, trying to get outdoors (easy cycling or rock climbing) to rebuild my atrophied body.

音乐、电影和书籍

A sucker for Tom Waits, folky country, and classic punk rock, I mostly am into the 80s-90s alterno-grunge complex, musically. In film it's Woody Allen, classic sci-fi, and movies with subtitles (I'm superficial, it's true). For books, Pride and Prejudice just blew me away and I'm always good for Kafka, Vonnegut, or Philip K Dick.

Skydiving outside Vancouver with Mt Baker in view comes to mind. It was a really bright day so the glacial top of the mountain was like glass. And I once gave Charlie Sheen advice about cheese in a supermarket.
