About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Current Mission is just to help out some travelers. If I can host I do, if I cant host I offer helpful & practical advice. Always up for a random question!
ABOUT ME
Grew up on a small country farm in Victoria Australia.
Lived on the Murray River for many years and have moved into Melbourne CBD for my career in Telecommunications where I currently manage 15 staff.
I like to think I'm a pretty fun, outgoing guy. Love to travel and meet new people.
A yearly overseas trip snowboarding with a few beers thrown in for good measure keeps me sane.
Like most Aussies, I love my sport, BBQs and greatcompany :)
PHILOSOPHY
I work to live! My girlfriend and I both love to travel and as such would enjoy helping out a weary traveler for a few nights.
Stay happy- you're the only one that can make yourself happy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't surfed yet but intend to at some point.
I occasionally host when i can but do prefer a lot of warning. I dont just give you a bed i try and give you an experience and a warm welcome to Melbourne.
I assist daily on the Melbourne thread/forum/discussion. I've met up with quite a few surfers and helped them around Melbourne, and naturally had beers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've met some pretty amazing people through couch surfing and hope that continues.

Teach, Learn, Share
Melbourne Things to know from a local:
*Beers are expensive pints from $7-15 AUD
* China town has amazing cheap dumplings $10 all you can eat
* Myki (travel card) $6 for the card and then you have to put money on the card. Travellers are advised to go to myki station at Southern Cross Station.
* Public transport is safe in Melbourne, just avoid troublesome spots (msg me for more info)
* Trams are free in the city! Hop on hop off.
* Shuttle bus from Airport is best bet. $18 every 10 minutes gets you to the city in 20-40 minutes depending on traffic
* Favorite Hostel in Melbourne to recommend: Space Hostel on Russel St.
What I Can Share with Hosts
While i haven't actually surfed yet: I assume when I do i'll be great company when required, very laid back and flexible while remaining respectful.
I'm sure if there's anything else that would help a host accept me they could ask and i'd most likely accept.
