I am taking a year out of employment so I can travel around the uk and Europe. I have a campervan which will set me up for most of the time however it would be nice to meet people who know areas I am visiting and who like to share stories. I am sure I will miss some home comforts on my travels, especially a hot shower :)
Hoping to also travel to New York for a short time as well to explore the city.
I live in a small village near Manchester, in England, where I have been living with my mum, dad, brothers and little dog.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

To meet people from different walks of life and make some new friends on my travels. I have met lots of people while I have been travelling. I have used the helps website before but I am fairly new to couch surfing so I hope to meet some nice people like I have through other websites. I am usually quite an introverted person when I am at home but have felt a great sense of freedom since I have been travelling and I think I am starting to open up more especially when meeting new people.

兴趣

Art and architecture are my main interests when I have been travelling around however I am really interested in seeing and experiencing new cultures. I live in a very diverse town and it is always great to see how other people live and the different approaches they take in life. I love walking (not fit enough to hike yet but I love walking and wandering around new places). I am a teacher and so I am always interested to broaden my horizons and experience as much as possible so I can feed back worldly experiences to the children back home (which will hopefully encourage them to try and experience as much of the world as they can in the future)

I never used to be a reader but I do try and read as much as I can now. I like dr Seuss books, Harry Potter, George Orwells animal farm and 1984. I am a fan of minimalist and highly stylised films like the fall, under the skin and pretty much anything by Stanley Kubrick. I'm also not going to pretend that I don't enjoy 'shit' films and just anything stupid that makes me laugh. Also love animation films and childish films that are a bit psychedelic/surreal. I play a bit of guitar and I a merry a big fan of Eric Clapton and bb king as well as other players of the blues but my musical taste is very eclectic in general.

I am always willing to learn from others and I enjoy listening to people's stories and ideas about life. I think it is important to be as honest as possible with people without forcing your ideas down their throats. Free thinking is the goal!

Cleaning duties!haha. I am very clean and will keep the place tidy. I can share my experiences and my views on things. It is always good to have a little debate on politics every now and again (even though I'm not too clued up on everything).
