I'm a social entrepreneur and television host/producer in Las Vegas. I was born and raised in Canada, and for the past fourteen years (since 17 years old) I've been traveling and starting numerous ventures and companies around the world. Right now I own an operate an advertising agency with about 60 full time staff and interns; as well as produce/host two TV shows in Canada and US (one is an adventure travel show and the other is an unscripted lifestyle show).

I started a small Venture Capital Fund back in 2013 out of a bible school in California that I went to for one year, after being moved by a missionary trip to West Africa that broke my heart by seeing the immense poverty, and thinking to myself, I can really make a dent in this using my networks and abilities with entrepreneurship. So now, the fund has grown and is economic-development focused and operates out of US; but funds start-ups only in “frontier” markets (such as Africa, India, Sri Lanka, some Eastern European countries, and now Middle East). So basically, I’m always traveling and looking for the next best venture to start or rally the troops to invest in. And I absolutely love it.

I’ve worked in a wide variety of industries, but am most passionate about agriculture value chains and export, software & technology, TV & film production, marketing/branding and consumer products, given my long history of start ups over the past 10 years or so in and around these particular spaces. If the business or idea is simple, scalable and impactful, likely I want to do it.

Hope this is a good enough blurb! I'm a very fun person to be around — when I'm not in turtle mode working intensely on a project. I love to travel, as you can see, and I find comfort in creating home atmospheres wherever I go. I love to cook, am into fitness and have been 'vegan' (more-so just whole foods plant based) for the past couple of years and am loving every bit of it. I'm also a Christian, by virtue, but believe in relationship over religion. One of my TV shows, “Christian Beer Network” will attest to that. The beautiful thing about traveling and experiencing so many people, cultures and beliefs, is that inasmuch as you realize everyone is different, you also realize how much we’re all the same.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I've traveled to 35 countries or so, and tons of places within. I've always found the absolute best way to get to know the heart of the places you visit, is to get to know the hearts of the people that live there. When I'm not feeling social, or the country is not relevant to couch surfing, I'd stick to renting hotels or private homes on AirBnB; but if it's a cool or unique enough place distant from touristy destinations, I like finding roommates or somewhat 'higher end' hostel environments to keep things interesting.

I have a beautiful home in Las Vegas (where I live 4-6 months a year), and I host people all the time (not on couch surfing website, but essentially I allow many friends and family coming to Vegas to "couch surf" anyways), so I figured, if I give out my beautiful home to people, and help them around town all the time, then maybe others will do the same for me. So I'll try this site out for a couple of destinations and see what happens.
