About Me

Find out...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here to meet open-minded, interesting new people, share travel and life experiences and learn new ways of thinking.
The essence of traveling for me is not to run from one tourist attraction to the next, but rather catch the vibe of a place and explore secret spots that tell a unique story. I always believed that you get to know a new city best if you explore with locals. That is how you learn to understand and respect an unfamiliar culture.

I enjoy getting to know people with contrasting backgrounds and to learn from their unique life stories. This is how you grow. This is how you develop. This is how you change your view of life.

And...to be honest, I am also very curious about how local people live and to get a glimpse of their daily life . ;)

Interests

Being German I love to drink beer 🍻 and I also love to enjoy new kinds of food. 😋 Good food and a few drinks always lighten the mood and usually lead to interesting conversations.

Time to throw in a quote. xD
Hemmingway's words sum it up pretty well:
“Don’t bother with churches, government buildings or city squares. If you want to know about a culture, spend a night in its bars.”

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The Subtle Art of not Giving a Fuck
Movies and Series: Narcos, Vikings, House of Cards, Occupied, Rick and Morty, Lord of the Rings, Californication and lots more...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

° Work'n'Travel in Australia 2012-2013: My first big adventure in life that shaped me and helped me to develop myself and learn what real independence and freedom means

° Studying and living in Cape Town, South Africa in 2017: Getting to know this beautiful and diverse country was amazing. I am proud that I had the opportunity to meet South Africans of all color and to call them my friends. Talking to them and emphasizing their ways of thinking helped me to grasp why there is still such a separation between blacks and whites in this country.

° Calling Krakow, Poland my home for 1,5 yrs: I really enjoyed this beautiful and striving city as well as meeting so diverse people from all over the world.
