Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
My passion lies in people, the poetry of interactions between strangers, sharing stories, experiences, and gaining a better understanding of the world I am a part of.
ABOUT ME
Student, pastry chef, cocktail shaker, house cleaner, jewelry maker, cemetery stroller, movie goer, and goth night dancer. Silly, sincere, sentimental and snarky.
I've been a part of various mail-art communities for many years with a similar objective to this, sending packages that create an atmosphere for the reader, most of which are strangers, though some become close friends over the years :) through shared stories, art, scraps of paper, photos, teas, hopes, regrets and secrets.
I feel as though couchsurfing is much the same, which is why I adore it.
Also, I really love old movies, especially when they're played on the big screen.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had great experiences in the past. (I once housed a 14 piece latin-funk band and made them all apple pancakes in the morning. Talk about first hosting experiences!) But in general I've always been open to strangers and I'm excited to meet you!

Musik, Filme und Bücher
What I look for and enjoy most in movies, music, and books is a well crafted binding of realism and fantasy, dark humor, pure silliness, and hope.
People who do this for me are Haruki Murakami, Kurt Vonnegut, Neil Gaiman, Garth Nix, Hunter Thompson, Wes Anderson, Alfred Hitchcock, Hayao Miyazaki, Sofia Coppola, David Lynch, Justine Electra, Kate Bush, Tom Waits, The Black Angels, David Bowie, The Talking Heads and the list goes on.
Currently reading: Sweetness and Power by Sidney W. Mintz a book written about the exploitation of sugar cane workers in Puerto Rico and subsequent success of Western Imperialism to produce, market, and import this “proletarian drug food” into European societies.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I can teach you how to bake something, do a cat's cradle, the chords to a few songs on the ukulele, and how to make a mean vegetarian quesadilla or any kind of cheesecake you can imagine!
I'd like to hear stories about your life, let's go for a walk.
