Overview
About Me
"Life is an unfoldment, and the further we travel the more truth we can comprehend. To understand the things that are at our door is the best preparation for understanding those that lie beyond."
-Hypatia
I am currently a student at the University of Washington doing an undergrad in Urban Planning! I studied abroad in Oslo, Norway for the International Summer School at the University of Oslo where I met people from all over the world and became interested in traveling even more and making more personal connections with people from other places.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have found that travel is more fulfilling when it is filled up with new friends and acquaintances! I treasure them more than sightseeing or souvenirs, and feel as though I have a better sense of a place when I see it from someone else's perspective.
I also am a strong believer in sharing economies and would love to incorporate that into my travels!
Interests
I love adventures, meeting people, and doing things that scare me.
As far as hobbies go, I practice a lot of fiber art! Weaving, spinning, dyeing and sewing are ways that I express myself creatively and get to work with my hands.
For my senior capstone project, I sewed and dyed seven outfits using plant dyes sourced from the Pacific Northwest for a fashion show on the UW campus that supports body positivity!

Music, Movies, and Books
It is hard to narrow them down, I like and dislike media from all genres! Just off the top of my head:
Music: Little Big Town, Interpol, Florence + the Machine, Delta Ray
Movies: Abre los Ojos, Fargo, True Grit, Lars and the Real Girl
Books: Juniper, East of Eden, Brave New World, always have loved anything by Tamora Pierce!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveled to the U.S Mexican border for a couple of weeks (stayed in sister cities Douglas, Arizona and Agua Prieta, Sonora) to study immigration from multiple perspectives, where we did the walk through the desert to the border fence, toured maquiladoras, had interviews with the US border patrol, volunteered with a couple of non-profit deportee resource centers, and tried to learn to break dance from teenagers on the plaza at night.
Teach, Learn, Share
Fiber arts! I'm also down to learn any art or skills you know, never know when it might come in handy!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook fairly decently! I love conversation and would love to get to know you. I also know my way around cleaning supplies if you need :P
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Mexico, Norway
