Graduating highschool in Melbourne, Australia in 2014 I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to be a paramedic and I wanted to travel the world. I was accepted into a course straight out of highschool but decided to defer for a year... Or at least I thought it would only be for a year...
In that first year I decided to spontaneously pack up my things and move to England, all on my own as an 18 year old. Now I'm coming to the end of my second year in England and my third gap year. In those years I've been fortunate to learn (in some ways easily, in many ways hard) about myself and how I react and handle situations... Supposedly as at adult. Hahaha
I've travelled many places and found myself in different jobs, been a part of different communities and been a part of people's lives. Three years on, I still want to be a paramedic and I still want to travel the world. In my mind I know if I become a paramedic, eventually I will be able to travel the world with that skill and really make an impact and help people's lives. And ultimately I think that is my goal.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I honestly didn't know much about how to go about couch surfing about a month ago, sure I had the app, a half set up profile and a few un-answered requests. It wasn't until I met a very experienced couch surfer and hitchhiker that I realised the full extent and reach of it. Now that the idea has been placed in my head there's nothing I want to do more! I want to travel countries fully, I dont want to stay in hostels and hotels with other tourists away from the locals, I what to be with the locals! I want to see the roads and landscapes as you do. See your favourite places, experience the traditions and the foods. I'm interested in culture and life, and what better way to experience it than with perhaps you? Tell me about who you are, what you do and you're passions, if youre passionate about it I'm passionate about listening to it.

Interests

I grew up loving and playing sport, it's been a part of me since I can remember I've swam, done gymnastics, calisthenics, taekwondo, lacrosse and Aussie rules football. However because I've never been able to play music I have a huge love and appreciation for it, I could sit and listen to some good jazz all day! I'm a lover or art and literature. I love nature and the world. I suppose I always catch myself just appreciating how the world can create incredible things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can easily say that I hugely appreciate all music, from rock to pop, to blues, electronic and jazz. Hand it all to me, I love discovering new artists and new sounds. Musicians are artists with a resounding way to express themselves. As for books I remember my dad having to come in to my me and my sister's room at around 3am, switching off the light and yelling go to sleep! That hasn't really changed ... And movies I don't watch many of them but I'm always up for one!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the craziest things I think I've done was pack up and move to England. It's also been one of the most amazing things too, I've learnt so much about myself and experienced so many new things I definitely wouldn't have been able to back home.

Teach, Learn, Share

I once heard a saying from I think an ancient Greek philosopher, but I could be wrong but it was something along the lines of "we must spend our whole lives learning and once we have learnt we must teach". To be honest that was probably just a vauge translation.... But the point stands, we must learn and become the masters of what we have learnt, and along the way we must teach what we know, and share our fortunes and experiences. I want to learn, I want to have incredible encounters and pass my knowledge and expenses onto others in hopes they have an encounter just as incredible.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A big smile and lots of energy! I can help around the house and provide good company, I can talk the leg off a chair but I'm always happy to listen too. I'm easy going, flexible and not after anything extra, just whatever you can offer. 😊
