About Me
*ONLY WILLING TO BE HOSTED BY WOMEN AND COUPLES. I will ignore single men hosting requests. Thank you for your understanding.*
My name is Melanie, I am from the French-speaking province of Canada (Quebec) and I am 24 years old. I am studying History with the aim of working for the Immigration department. I am a bit shy, but I am really eager to learn about how people live in different parts of the world, and hear about their story.
Fun facts about me:
-I love history; I will try to visit every history museum I can find
-I was born up North and thus, I can withstand cold better than most people and struggle with the heat.
-If I visit a country and do not say "what the fuck is going on?", I am not at the right place
-My body can last long with only a slice of bread a day, but my brain longs for new recipies and homemade food
-I freaking love speaking to foreigners in their language (teach me yours!)
-I come from a place which is considered a part of Canada but (culturally speaking) it is not
-I actually enjoy trying new things
-I cannot ride a bicycle and will not ever try to learn.
-My favorite hobby is writing
-I will always be down to help you get the perfect Instagram picture
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
People make the place great. With good hosts or new friends, one can fall in love with a city (and vice versa. been here, done that.)
Interests
My favorite thing to do while travelling is wandering in an unknown city and find places I would have never expected to find. Bring me to see secret wonders!
I am usually really independant when I travel, but I love meeting locals and fellow travellers.
I want to learn more about history, so any museums and archaeological sites are always my top priority in a trip.

Music, Movies, and Books
Shrek. That's it. Just Shrek.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Surfed on the Moscow river (almost died), paddleboarded on Prague river, ran away from crabs in the French sea, ate all type of meat you can imagine in China, seen wild horses in Montenegro
Teach, Learn, Share
I can't cook for s***. I would love learning recipes from around the world if that is your thing!
I can teach French (and Canadian French for the most adventurous), English and my limited knowledge of Chinese and Spanish. I would love to learn more Russian.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Always willing to go out with you, talk about anything. Join me on my adventure! I am a really bad cook but I can help, and do the dishes. I can teach your family French and English.
