About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting people all over the globe! I am up for new cultures, people, and couchsurfing any way to help.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed in Vietnam, Thailand, and hopefully Brazil!

Music, Movies, and Books

Come check out my extensive library and movie collection...Shantaram is my favorite book The Kite Runner, set in Afghanistan, the Piano Tuner, which was set in Burma and I also loved Jung Chang's Wild Swans. About to read the glass palace which begins in one of my favourite places, Myanmar.

I always love it when CSers bring books to exchange with me!:) I also loved reading the Book Theif set in Germany and Bitter Chocolate set in Haiti, Europe and the USA. I am also currently reading 9 parts of desire about Islamic women which is fascinating

I also love music, listening to a wide variety of genres, ranging from James Blunt, Kings of Leon, Gotye, Nickelback, Bagraiders, Florence and the Machine, MUSE, Damien Rice, Coldplay, 80s, 90s, Keane to heavy metal, grunge - Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and certain amounts of hip-hop/rap

I especially revere lots of classical music such as compositions I've performed in...Dvorak's New World, Tchaikowsky's Nutracker, Mozart's Requiem Mass. It just depends on my mood. My passion for classical music stems from my musical training as a classical pianist and bassoonist as well as my passion for teaching music, which I am currently doing here in Vietnam after moving from Australia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things of my life was moving to Vietnam and getting stuck at the top of Angkor Wat when the railing was broken. I also got to jam and have my students to jam with Herbie Hancock when he was here in Vietnam and got to play in two concerts in Taos, New Mexico in 2009!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love discussing books, movies, music, travelling, food - especially cheese, wine and life-experiences with people who have a thirst for knowledge.

We always see live bands, especialy in my local neighbourhood of Brunswick and Fitzroy.

I have an extreme passion for live music of any genre as well as for books and films. I would love to share any kind of discussion about these things with peeople from all over the world, especially musicians like myself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A super love of cooking, passion for cheese and fine food, wine and classical piano
