Overview
About Me
I graduated recently and have absolutely no interest in starting some dull office job and stop living. I believe that being a useful and productive component of society shouldn't come at the cost of giving up your freedom and happiness, as it happens nowadays in most employments.
I try to live a minimalistic and mindful life, in all of its aspects, and traveling is one of them: slow travelling, ethically and consciously, avoiding whatever is fast and global.
I pity people traveling for the sake of ticking must-see places from the tourist's bucket list they printed the day before from the 'top things to see in this city' tripadvisor page, especially when they do so to feed the attention needs they have been craving on social medias.
But they exist, and thanks to them my universe is richer.
Shower mindfully, dumpster diver, anticonsumption, recycling fixing or upcycling everything, deeply concerned with the unjustices we calmly live together with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Tl,dr: I have money for staying at hostels, but free accommodation is just not what I'm looking for.
What I'd like to find here on couchsurfing is an honest and genuine spirit of travel, adventure, community and mutual help, then in other words some other people sharing with me the same desire to discover, do and try something new and authentic.
I believe the business of tourism has grown so greedy that it's eventually revolving around money in its entirety (as everything else has, actually), so that that authenticity has been lost somewhere and it's now not considered anymore as a core part in the experience of discovery and travel.
I hope to find in cs a way to get back to that genuine idea of travel, that doesn't relate to money or to making an income out of it.
Interests
I've been totally taken by climbing lately, so that's what I'm into right now!
I spend my free time solo-travelling, backpacking, bouldering, making jewlery, volunteering, cycling, reading, climbing, boycotting the system, playing table tennis, hiking, or camping wild, drawing, writing, carving wood, doing some yoga with calisthenics and isometrics.
I disagree to different extents with many things from contemporary culture: the way we eat, what we eat, our economic system, our energivorous extractivist way of life, our anthropocentric view of the world and existence, our addiction to dopamine, the idea of countries, borders and 'illegal people', globalization, and much more.
So I try to live a life the more in line with my values, accepting to live with contradictions.

Music, Movies, and Books
Memento, Requiem for a dream, Donnie Darko, Network, Koyaanisquatsi, Sans soleil, my dinner with Andre, Waking life, the Midnight Gospel, Black Mirror, Love Death + Robots, Trainspotting, but for more chill stuff I'd go with South Park, Rick and Morty, Parks and Recreation and the Office.
Music I go along with: Alt-j, BGKO, la muchacha, Rodrigo and Gabriela, Rancore, Felix Laband, John Butler, Salmo, el chojin, la otra, and some tecno.
Books of pillar importance: 1984, by Orwell; Walden, by Thoreau; The zen and art of motorcycle maintenance, by Pirsig; the geography of bliss, by Weiner; Into the wild, by Krakauer; Topophilia, bu Yi-Fu Tuan; Tao Te Ching, by Lao Tzu; Civil Disobedience, by Thoreau; the Dark mountain manifesto; Erich Fromm; existential psychotherapy, by Irvin Yalom.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I believe that striving for uniqueness is so common that defies it's very original meaning. People in todays time are so afraid of conforming and losing their identity that the new mainstream trend is to be unique. Ah the irony!
Teach, Learn, Share
- Can teach you how to make the sound of a wild pig with a straw of grass, how to solve a rubiks cube, how to pick a lock, how to brew cheap self made low quality alcohol, how to forge train tickets with lip balm, how to make raw olives edible, how to sun-cook clay bricks, how to make moroccan tea and last but not least teach you how to cook the perfect pasta.
- Going to learn pretty much anything you have to offer!
