Born and bred in Melbourne, Australia. Have recently moved to Canada to live with my girlfriend after meeting in New Zealand a few years back.
I have been a teacher for the past 5 years and now I have arrived in Canada am also working as a bartender/server in a restaurant/bar.

Big time lover of craft beer and have tasted over 700 beers, always looking for a local gem!
Enthusiast of nearly all sports in particular sports with lots of action.
Recently took up running and am looking forward to running all throughout the world, it truly is a great way to learn a town.
Last but not least I love food. Here's hoping that hosts can show me some hidden gems and their favourite eateries!

I used couchsurfing first while I was in university and completed a trip through Europe. Initially it was a way to have a place to stay but once I started it is clearly more than that. I have met some great people who have shown me a taste of their culture and for that I will be forever grateful.

I can find songs in any genre that I like and different moods call for different genres but my preference would be indie/alternative and typical radio music.
Love watching a good film whether it's blockbuster or art house, action or romantic comedy just as long as it gets some good reviews.

When in Turkey with my friend Emily we did some hitch hiking around Istanbul. While not an incredible feat in itself, hitch hiking in Australia isn't 'normal' so even for me this was outside of my comfort zone. It was such a rewarding experience. We got to meet so many lovely people and get in touch with the culture of Turkey more so than we ever would have without. It also resulted in a local taking us to the beach and then staying at her apartment, where she cooked a traditional breakfast for us also. Made my time in Istanbul so much more rewarding.
