About Me

Let's start with the facts...

Born and raised in Liverpool, England. Lived in the UK till I was 19 and traveled a good amount of Europe and the rest of the world in that time.

In 2005 my folks decided to move to New Zealand and a few months later I decided to follow, best decision I ever made.

I have lived in New Zealand (Auckland) for over a decade and managed to fit in a fair amount of travel in that time.

I am situated in Parnell, Fox street. In a 3 bedroom apartment with one flatmate.

I like to think of myself as easy going and social. I have a big passion for the arts, film & television and theatre. I love sports (mainly football/soccer) and like a weekly game of poker if I'm not working.

Good banter is a must, i like to make people laugh and make sure they are having a good time and try and give them the best tips and advice for the area that I didn't get when I first arrived in Auckland.

I am hard working and love my job, sometimes a little too much and tend to work a lot.

I currently work at Q Theatre in the CBD on Queen Street as part of the management team. I worked in the hospitality industry for many years and have a lot of helpful tips about Aucklands hospo scene and cam even assist in finding people work who are staying on a holiday visa as I still have friends in the industry and a buddy who owns a couple of bars.

Any questions please ask.

My Future trips....
USA (San Francisco, Chicago, Boston ect) from June to early July 2019.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe in paying things forward and good karma. For a long time whenever I would meet someone who was visiting Auckland for the first time I would give them as much advice and tips on places to go and see because when I first arrived in Nz I didn't have that and it took a while for me to settle. This app allows me to do that and meet new people at the same time, hopefully help them out and when it comes time for me to go on my 6 week trip of the USA next year hopefully that good karma will come back to me.

Interests

After many years working in the hospitality industry I decided to make a move into an area that I was passionate about, I decided to go to film school and eventually found myself working in theatre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best and worst day of my life.....

I was involved in a first response to a three car collision in Los Angeles within my first few days visiting the USA. I pulled three young teens from the wreck and helped them until the emergency services arrived. Sadly their youngest sibling was killed in the crash.

Best day because I realized that in a crisis I get very focused and I'm at my best. From that point on I understand that nothing that happens to you is that bad as long as nobody has died.
Worst day because nobody should have to watch a child die.

Heavy shit I know but definitely life changing.
