About Me

Hi! Thanks for viewing my ad. I hope you’re doing well!

I am an active and engaged student of the miraculous and wondrous world in which we live. I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my many friends, family, and pets as I can—preferably in the great outdoors with a cup of coffee in hand. I love exploring: weekend-long jaunts in nature, camping, urban hiking, sight-seeing, and the like. I'm laid back, friendly, courteous, trustworthy, adventurous, and free-spirited. (Check out all the pics I posted and read the captions for more information about me.)

I was born and raised in the pristine wild wilderness of Northern Michigan. I have lived in major metropolitan areas most of my adult life—mainly Chicago, San Francisco for a couple of years, and a few other cities along the way.

Professionally, I am a server/barista and an aspiring writer. I recently published my first book. I am working on several others.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask away. I’m pretty much an open book (no pun intended). Thanks again for viewing my ad! Happy Couchsurfing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

MEET PEOPLE!!! I have yet to meet a person I didn't like. Everyone I have ever met has had a compelling life story inside them worth telling and an incredible amount of fascinating knowledge worth sharing—I love sharing mine (when asked) and listening to others share theirs. I firmly believe that knowledge doesn't become wisdom until it's shared... Through the years, I've found that I've learned much more about life, living well, and the world from other people than I have in any classroom.

Also, while traveling, I prefer to meet and hang out with individuals who are familiar with the area I’m visiting rather than getting lost by myself or with other tourists. I’ve learned that locals provide much better recommendations (and directions!) for places to visit and explore than even hotel concierges do. With that being said, don't feel like you need to be my personal tour guide. I completely understand some hosts may be busy or not interested in some of the activities I am interested in. I do, however, hope we can hang out at least a little. After all, I think that we're both on here to meet new people, not just to crash on couches or provide a couch. But if you're kind enough to host me, please don't feel obligated to entertain me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: All genres.
Movies: I like most types. Stand By Me is probably my favorite.
Books: I usually read nonfiction. I love Catch-22 and The Invisible Ear (the book I wrote).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Faced my fear of heights by rappelling down a steep cliff.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, cooking, stories/good conversation, and hopefully lots and lots of laughs to name a few. Or peace and quiet if you're not feeling social or if you are busy (so quiet that you won't even know I'm there). I'll strive to make our Coachsurfing experience the best it can be. I'd also be more than happy to write a positive review for you. Last but certainly not least: you'll also have my endless gratitude!
