ABOUT ME

Hi my name is Michael. I was born in Canada but grew up in the USA. I'm a laid back guy who loves to travel. I'm very respectful and am a very good guest/host.

When I first heard of couchsurfing in 2011, I have to be honest I was a bit skeptical of it. While I consider myself to be an open-minded person, I'm still very cautious. Last summer, 2014, I decided to try couchsurfing for the first time and absolutely fell in love with it. I had wonderful experiences couchsurfing through the Balkans as well as London.

In the past I've always stayed at hostels or hotels. While hostels and hotels are nice, they don't provide a true local experience, which is what I like when I travel. The only way to get a true local experience is to stay with someone who lives there. I wish I could go back to some of the places I've visited since 2011 so I could get more of a local experience than what I got.

I've done many amazing things during my travels. I've toured the pyramids on horse, I've gone peak climbing, I've seen some of the world's most gorgeous beaches, I've eaten insects, and I've seen some of the world's most amazing castles, temples, and cathedrals.
