Overview
About Me
Howdy ho! My name is Michael. Australian born expat to the great white north; your quintessential one stop multi-cultural urban explorer. Ridiculously obsessed with reading and learning about the world. The first thing most people notice about me is if you don't see me climbing a mountain, you'll find me with my noise in a book. I am self professed foodie/ coffee nut/ milkshake connoisseur. My favourite pass times include poetry, cycling, hiking, Brazilian jujitsu and following my nose! Look me up if you're interested in any of the above :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Honestly, I've done the whole hotel travel adventure before. I am looking to get out of my comfort zone and expose myself to new exciting adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a fan of everything! At the current time my Spotify playlist is riddled with Chet Faker, Alex Clare, NWA, Flume, London Grammer, Sea of bees and Oberhofer.
Since I work in film I pretty much watch everything that's out there. My favourite films, include anything by Baz Luhrmann, Wes Anderson and Kevin Smith.
BOOKS! Hermann Hesse is my favourite author (My favourites include Siddhartha, Rosshalde & Narcissus and Goldmund), Anything by John Steinbeck, Jon Krakauer, Jeffrey Eugenides and of course Dickens
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sea kayaking in 20+ knot winds with my best friend. White caps demolishing the both of us for 3 hours straight! 2 hours in, I took a wave to the side whilst attempting paddle away from sharp rock/ cliff face (which was 5 metres away). Immediately I capsized and was forced underwater. I miraculously managed to escape from my sea skirt and after 2 attempts stabilize and paddle away in an half sunken kayak. I have a hilarious interview with the both us if you're ever interested to watch.
