My idea of a great night is jumping around like an idiot at a punk show at a new venue, then driving a couple hours home blaring music and ending the night really getting to know someone at those wee hours of the morning.

Also, I just graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a business & philosophy double major.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I promote the site like crazy to friends. I first CSed to have a free room for the night, but ended up talking for hours with my first host about his experience with CS and I've been hooked ever since.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed in Washington DC, Philly, Toronto, and Chicago and loved all trips. I was looking for a unique lunch spot in DC, and I texted my host to ask for any personal faves, and got 3 great suggestions within a couple blocks of me. My experience CSing wouldn't have been the same without these helpful hints--Oh, the places I'd have missed.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Blue valentine, office space, eternal sunshine, little miss sunshine, donnie darko, lost in translation...usually dark things that make me feel something.

Music: Brand New, Manchester Orchestra, Blink 182, Taking Back Sunday, Alanis Morisette, Modest Mouse, La Dispute, Jimmy Eat World, Death Cab, Neutral Milk, etc.

Books: Chuck Palahniuk, Ayn Rand (but not all of her philosophies), Tom Robbins, etc.

TV: Friends, Modern Family, Parks & Rec, UNC basketball (TAAAARRRRR). I usually don't watch much TV.

I love personalized mix CDs. I'm really only decent at fitting rock mixes from the 90s to present, but I can still try to suit other tastes if you let me run through your music library.

And I love receiving mixes of any kind from all genres!
