About Me

Hello :) well, I'm a fellow wander-luster - I like art and music and laughing and cooking, dancing, learning, nature, adventure - all the beautiful things this life has to offer. I spent a year teaching kindergarten in Uganda after studying elementary education and then another two years hitching through Africa with my "little pink tent." I've got loads of stories and like hearing yours, I'm friendly and easy going and would appreciate a couch to crash on and fellow traveller to converse with just as much as I would take a dusty corner of the floor to curl up on - I'll take what I can get and when I'm back in the states I'll be so happy to host anyone as well.

*I'm a bit leary about staying with guys on couchsurfing as I've had a few uncomfortable experiences. So please, if you see my profile and that I'm needing a place to stay know that I'm very friendly and interested in meeting you and having great experiences and sharing stories, but only on a friendly basis - I am a taken girl not looking for a hookup so please be respectful and unassuming. If we can all do that than we can all get along;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First, its a great way to meet locals. One of my favorite elements of travel is of course the people I meet and the kindred spirits/friends I make on the way. Certainly travel on a budget can make one very vulnerable, a helping hand goes a long way and I think it's special to have websites like this that allow fellow trevellers to connect with and assist each other where we can. I've been in many a situation where a smiling face, warm cup of tea, and safe place to sleep has turned my spirits and faith in humanity right around and I appreciate opportunities where we are able to do that for each other.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well life in general is kind of amazing, isn't it - successfully breathing and moving and enjoying the beauty of each day and what we've been given - I've enjoyed a lot of beautiful things in my life and sights and laughs and people and memories but at the top of my head I'd say one thing I'm proud of is successfully funding my travels through hard work and bartending, and hitching across Africa safely and enjoying the many cultures there.

What I Can Share with Hosts

New recipes/cooking ideas - stories and I'm sure quite a lot of laughs
