My name is Michal, coming from Poland. I began my adventure with solo travel in 2017, longing for adventure, meeting new people and exploring new cultures, but also full of fear and doubt. Not so long after, it has become one of my favourite forms of spending free time.

I believe I am an open minded, curious and easy going person who likes to have fun once in a while, but also needs personal space for recharging.

When not travelling, my hobbies include football, books, cycling, and swimming. I like good beer and I will never decline any FIFA challenge.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have stayed in multiple hostels across the Europe. It is a fantastic opportunity to have fun and meet people from all around the world.

However, sometimes it does not offer any interaction with the local people, their culture, stories and way of living. I would like to gain that insight, open up more to people and share everything best about Polish culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: My Spotify playlists are rather filled with rock music, but I don't limit myself to one genre. My favourite bands and artists are Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, Tash Sultana, Rise Against, Iron Maiden, BANKS, Kendrick Lamar, The Subways.

Books: Anything written by Olga Tokarczuk, Łukasz Orbitowski, Ryszard Kapuściński. Biographies and travel literature. My life wouldn't be the same without Harry Potter series.

Movies: The Truman Show, Birdman, The Departed, Inception, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button are my all-time favorites. Shrek will always hold a special place in my heart :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once bought plane tickets to Malaga at 4am and flew there following morning.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm more than willing to talk about Polish culture, politics and history, share my travel stories and hear Yours as well.

If you want I will practice with you English, Polish, teach how to win at beer pong, make awesome quesadillas or how to meditate.

My manual and technical skills are not really my strenghts and I'm ready to improve in this area!
