I thought that I had retired, but I find that I am still designing - small projects not large. I am a widower, with six daughters and eight grandchildren. The youngest daughter is with me at present, as are two dogs, a cat and a bird. I am a lot involved in my community, particularly with a local art foundation - Google IMOS. I live on Romney Marsh, on the south coast of England (you need transport to stay here), one of the most unusual places on the planet, and of which I am very proud (although I have only been here for a bit over thirty years).

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I have always enjoyed travelling, and my daughter introduced me to this organisation. I would like to replace my stolen motorcycle and go exploring - unfortunately I always seem to have too many interesting things to do here! And the dogs to look after.
Music, Movies, and Books
Why do people always ask this? I am listening to Ladysmith Black Mombaza on the radio at present - sublime! - but I like opera, classical, popular, folk, blues... My all time favourite film must be Fellini's Occo e Mezzo- but ask me again later! I collect books - several thousand around the house, if I prioritised one the others might get jealous! But Kipling's Just So Stories was the book that started me reading.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Designed and built a Sixth Form College, twenty years ago, which continues to improve the life chances of1700 students every year- it cost less than the price of three Challenger 2 Tanks at the time. Can I add something else? In 2016 I cut off the beard that I had been growing since 1961, and all my hair, and raised £2,500 for Cancer Research.
