Overview
About Me
I'm an American traveling through Australia and then headed off to New Zealand! I've been many places in the US and Australia since graduating from university in May 2016 :) I'm interested in cooking, language/culture exchange, meeting new people, seeing new things, and generally seeing what the world has offer and what I can offer back :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For affordable accommodation and the chance to meet other people outside the party hostels and the tour groups! There are so many people in the world and it's so important to me to meet as many different people an have as many different, authentic experiences as I can.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't watch too many movies these days but I do indulge in whatever Netflix has to offer :) I like stand up comedy and documentaries!
Reading (tied with traveling) is absolutely my favorite hobby. I've read hundreds of books (One Hundred Years of Solitude is my absolute favorite) including Gabriel Garcia Marquez's works, Harry Potter of course, The Book Thief, El Narco, Gangster Warlords, The Kite Runner, The Reluctant Fundamentalist, Season of Migration to the North, Nervous Conditions, Things Fall Apart -- among SO many others! I love reading books about people from different cultures and walks of life :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My best friend (who is from Brazil) was studying at Cornell University for 6 weeks in New York and I road tripped out to see him (10+ hour drive by myself!) and we traveled to Niagara Falls and all around New York- which was one of the best times of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm very interested in language and although I'm only fully fluent in English, I'd love to sharpen up my French and Spanish as well as pick up whatever else I can :) I love politics and sociology and love to engage in deep discussions about the two.
As far as sharing, I don't have too many skills to teach but I am always willing to share a bottle of wine or a slab of beer over pizza ;)
