Overview
About Me
I just finished my second year in a Ph.D. program at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. I'm a lover of hiking, outdoors activities, exploring new places, food, sports, intellectual conversations, stupid humor, and many other things. I'm generally open to new and different experiences and appreciate learning new perspectives from going new places and meeting new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel, but don't do it nearly often enough largely due to the costs. Also, I love meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: like many people, I like a lot of different types of artists. A few favorites are: Elephant Revival, Thievery Corporation, and Nahko and Medicine for the People.
Books: I like to read a lot of nonfiction, though fiction is also good. I don't have as much time to read as I would like, but some recent favorites are "A Prayer for the City" and "I Never Had it Made"
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently saved a dog's life by breaking up a dog fight while hiking. Not sure if that is amazing, but I felt like it was good I was there. Both dogs (and myself) came out of it okay.
Teach, Learn, Share
Not sure what this section is going for, but I'm always open to learning new things / teaching what I know / sharing what I can.
