About Me

My two friends and I are doing a cross country motorcycle/camping trip and it’s my goal to learn as much about the different parts of this country and the people in it as possible. I’ve always believed that you are the culture that you were raised in, and I want to see if that holds true as I explore the area that you call home.

I’m not looking for hosts to treat like hotels, I’m looking for someone who wants to be a part of the adventure. Let’s chat about what you love about your part of the world. Let’s swap stories and wander through our thoughts around a camp fire.

Since we’re trying to explore the whole country in 3 weeks, we likely won’t be staying in any locations for more than a day. That makes it kind of hard to stop and appreciate everything, but I’m confident we can jam a ton of fun into our short time together. This is a motorcycle trip so there is no itinerary since the weather will probably blow us around a little, but below I tried to make a rough outline of where I expect to stop and when:

7/5 - Portland, Or
7/6 - Cape Flattery, Wa
7/7 - Victoria, Bc
7/9 - northwestern Montana
7/10-11 - Yellowstone
7/13 - cody, wy
7/15 - devils tower, wy
7/16 - crazy horse/Mount Rushmore, sd
7/18 - Minneapolis, mn
7/19 - Milwaukee, wi
7/20 - Chicago, il
7/21 - Detroit, mi
7/23 - Pittsburg, pa
7/26 - Rochester, ny
7/28 - Middletown, nj

Please let me know if you can put the three of us up for a night, even if it just means letting us camp in your backyard (assuming it’s nicer than behind a trucker rest stop).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that the internet has made us into isolated and sheltered people, so I think it would be cool to use the internet to break that trend on this trip. I also believe that the best way to explore an area is to make connections with the people in it, so I want to make as many connections on this trip as possible. I’m not only looking for hosts, but I’m looking for people to chat and hangout with.
