About Me

Born in Brooklyn NY..ran away from home at 4 years old to the open spaces of Long Island. My parents followed me out about a year later and we settled in East Meadow NY. They knew I'd made a wise decision ........just kidding :)

I have an 8 year old cat named Baci who thinks he's a dog and fetches &
I also Have a 22 year old son who doesn't fetch but does live on his own in Brooklyn (life's full circle)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I know people who have had great experiences meeting people from all over the world and sometimes just meeting new people who live relatively close seems like a great way to expand your horizons., learn about different cultures and places.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to be modest under the category of "one amazing thing I've done" lol-BUT changing it to one thing I've done that I'm extremely proud of is my volunteer work addressing hunger issues in our area. I was able to reach out to a company that wound up donating $40,000 for a van that our food rescue group, Community Solidarity will use to pick up donated food from Trader Joes Whole Foods and farms on the Island. This food would have wound up in the trash otherwise.

Teach, Learn, Share

YES...I think I am able to do all three.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Willing to share my knowledge of the area, NYC also and of course its fun to learn about other areas of the country or the world. I'll be free some times during day
to drive you locally or get you to public transportation which is a 15-20 minute walk otherwise. I am a 20 minute ride from beautiful beaches and an hour train ride
to NY City. In the other direction the east end of Long Island has a burgeoning group of vineyards that have sprouted up over the last 10 -15 years.

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Barbados, England, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Martinique, Spain, Switzerland
