About Me

I have a masters degree in medieval history but started working as a freelace event manager after getting my degree. My biggest project is a huge annual buskers festival in my hometown of Würzburg (Germany) with more than 80 bands from all over the world... So I can highly recommend visiting Würzburg and the festival in early September ;) I also work for a regional travel agency that´s specialised in individual travels to Japan.

I love food and think I´m a solid chef myself. Always love to learn more recipes from all over the world.

Apart from work and cooking I spend my time tending to my TV and movie addiction, going out with friends, reading and travelling. I recently discovered rock-climbing as a new hobby and go to our local bouldering-gym 2-3 days a week.

I´m curious about most things in the world, so I like to talk about most topics (science, politics, sports, movies, religion,...) as you can always learn something new.

I´m very easy-going, low-maintanance, friendly, curious and always love good food, a cold beer and a nice chat.

Looking forward to meeting you :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my travels, the most memorable experiences I made are always related to the people I met. And what better way to experience the places you visit than with the insight of a local?!

I also love to have friends or guests over at my place. Unfortunatelly the city I live in now (Aschaffenburg) isn´t the most touristy hotspot so there haven´t been many request on cochsurfing yet. But I love to share my knowlage on german culture, the region I live in, cooking and everything else visitors might want to know and do. So if you´re in the area of Frankfurt or Würzburg and want to make a daytrip to Aschaffenburg: Let me know :)

Interests

Well... I´m actually interested in almost everything. It´s always good to learn and experience something new.

As I already wrote above I love food and cooking. I also have an ever growing collection of cookbooks in my home (around 65 by now).

I also go rockclimbing 2-3 days a week.

I love to travel whenever time and money make it possible.

Love exploring the places I go on foot. Otherwise you miss out on all the little things in between the major spots.

Music, Movies, and Books

Puh... That would take a lot of time an space. Love movies and books!

With books I mostly stuck with the fantasy genre: Brandon Sanderson, Steven Erikson, Joe Abercrombie, Jim Butcher, Patrick Rothfuss, George Martin, ...

Movies: everything by Christopher Nolan and Wes Anderson, most Marvel MCU movies, most PIXAR movies, american indie movies, movies from almost every genre...

In recent years I watched more series than actual movies. To list my favorites would be an embarassing long list so here´s "just a few": The Wire, The Shield, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchiy, Big little lies, Luther, Sherlock, Utopia, Babylon Berlin, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Game of thrones, Rick&Morty, Sopranos, Firefly, Fargo, Black Mirror, Westworld, Battlestar Galactica, 30 Rock, Dexter,...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting married to my wonderful wife :)

Did a 6-day trek crossing the alps in 2017.

Fell in love with asia.

The list goes on but I like most kind of experiences where I learn and see something new.
