To that end I spend most of the year traveling from NY to CA and all points in between pausing to earn money when I can while my home in NJ generates rental revenue. RV nomad snowbird. Airbnb Property manager. Lots of free time. Live @ Long Island NY, NJ lakehouse,Slab City CA winters. Part writer, singer, photographer, videographer, dancer, harmonica player. Learning banjalele. Wanderlust heart, gypsy feet, and a rubber tramp soul. Tennis, kayak, bike, sail. Searching for Value in a random and amoral universe. Time >$. Love>fear . less is more. I drive cross country twice a year in my motorhome.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

More than anything I am looking to make new friends, share perspectives, trade stories, and laugh. I get along with so many different types of people and I always find our common ground. I am frugal so I can afford a nomadic lifestyle built around the pleasures of life, free time, and mobility. I'm open minded with an open heart. I am honest, sincere, direct, and will always treat your space with care as if it were my own .

Music, Movies, and Books

Warren Zevon, Harry Nilsson, Tom Petty come to mind but the list is endless from Classical on up. Into the Wild both book and movie began my wanderlust. How to win friend and Influence people by Dale Carnegie taught me to be cognizant of my personal relationships and always reminds me to treat friends well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in a post apocalyptic utopian outpost on an abandoned army base in the California desert called Slab City finding myself way outside my comfort zone and learning to adjust accordingly.

Teach, Learn, Share

Born and raised Long Islander. My parents are terrific and always have been so I enjoyed an open door policy for friends all throughout my youth. If there was a get together on a weekend, it was at my house. Suffice to say I am extremely sociable and always seeking new and interesting friends.

My passion for exploration took me to California for my 20's where I finished College with a B.A in Film. I interned on Hollywood and Vine, was a waiter for a bit, and attended 100s of weddings as a DJ.

A film project and Phish concert coupled with my passion for side roads and weird locations unearthed my new favorite town of Slab City CA. I knew once I found this "Last Free Place in America" that things would never be exactly the same.

Within weeks I had quit my job, sold or packed what I had left in a Craigslisted RV and headed to The Slabs. I discovered that if I took my rent money and converted it into exploration cash that I could have a lot more fun...and I did!

Living just outside of Surf City CA, biking the river trails to the ocean and back everyday with the sun always on my face I began to see how I might be able to drift endlessly, alas it was time for another shake up.

Back to NY I went to DO IT RIGHT. The plan, get debt free, save every penny, live as cheap as I could stand and prepare. Goal achieved. I now travel when I wish and work when I need.

Currently living at a lake house in NJ and sailing away my weekends on Long Island in the summer and being a nomad wintering in Slab City CA
