About Me

I'm an easy-going and adventurous person who loves nature, indie music and craft beer :) I am always keen to try out something new and adventurous, and meet new people!

I'm currently working at an environmental consulting company in Nagoya after living and working in Rwanda as a volunteer program for 2 years. I'm happy to explore Nagoya together or show you Gifu!

Happy couchsurfing !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just fell in love with this amazing concept of couchsurfing as an alternative way to travel (now it's almost my main way to travel!), meet new people and get to know more about local places when travelling! My brother is a quite an experienced couchsurfer and heard lots of great stories from him!

Interests

I love watching sports games and doing some exercises. I like to watch baseball, football, swimming, volleyball, tennis and so many other sports. I'm a huge fan of my local baseball team in Japan.

I am a huge craft beer lover. I usually like to try some local craft beer when I travel. I've been to many local craft breweries when I was living in Sydney and am quite keen to visit more breweries.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Indie pop, lock, psychedelic, folk and country and jazz (I have too many favourite artists and can't write here)

Movies: I'm into independent/foreign films. I'm a fan of small cinema and film festivals. Into documentaries too. Would love to see more non-English movies this year.

Books: Currently trying to read more books written by African writers! Share your recommendations with me if you have any! My favourite author is Chimamanda Ngozi Alicia and I love her book "Americanah".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Exchanging letters and parcels with many penpals around the world from when I was junior high school (Hoping to do a visiting-my-old-penpals trip in Europe soon!)

Backpacking + Hitchhiking around NZ in 2017

Camping in the extremely hot outback with amazing CS host and her kids and midnight swimming in the river in outback NSW, Australia

Did marathons times in Rwanda 2018/2019

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to teach Japanese to small kids as an assistant at a Japanese school in Sydney, Australia. I used to tutor some people when I was a university student in Australia too. I was also a volunteer in my hometown for Japanese teaching at a local community center. In Rwanda, I was teaching English to Rwandans in my town.
