Why I'm on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a very special kind of traveling, it seems rather the reason to travel than a means to facilitate traveling. At least for me. I actually travel for the sake of meeting new people and learning about their ways.
Music, Movies, and Books
To be honest I prefer the music of the nature, splashing of waves, singing of birds, houling of wind. If I do have to listen to music I'd prefer it to be sufi music or some bhajans - spiritual - and preferrably accoustic and live. But sometimes I listen to Tom Waits for example. Baba Aziz is one of my favorites, talking about movies. Shantaram is one of my favorite books. And talking about non-fiction my most favorite author is Carlos Castaneda.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I've lived for a week in a cave in the mountains in winter all alone except for a visiting wild cat. I've baked real bread for 50 people in a self-made stone-and-earth stove while camping in the Swiss Alps and under occasional rain.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach swimming if there are facilities for that. I'd like to learn more about Thai Massage and Oriental healing. And now I can also teach you some Thai massage or share our knowledge and love of this healing art. And I can give you the massage as well!
What I Can Share With Hosts
I can cook vegetarian ayurvedic dishes, I can share the expences for buying food, I can share experience and may be a lot more that I can't think of.
My Interests
Swimming. I started quite late to become a pro, but I definitely would have tried if I could. During the cold season in Kiev I go to the pool 5 days a week. But when it's warm I use every opportunity to travel. I've recently become very interested in Thai Massage and the healing methods of the East. And now I am a certified Thai Massage Therapist! Another new hobby is indoor climbing.
