About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To never stop exploring and learning while making time to do the things that light me up and bring me joy. To give my critters the best possible life!
ABOUT ME
I consider myself easy going and laid back, I enjoy reading, gardening and yoga. I appreciate live theater and exploring. I play fast pitch softball in a ladies league during the summer. I have a flock of laying hens and enjoy gardening. I live in a very rural area, but it's beautiful!
I traveled across Europe when I took my undergraduate degree. I've done my fair share of hitch hiking. I've camped out of my car and in a bivy across Newfoundland and hiked/did a water fall hunt in New Brunswick out of my car one winter. I did a great road trip from San Diego around to the Grand Canyon and back. I enjoyed Utah/Arches- I always make time for travel.
Please mention you saw the code phrase: blue babboon and I'll know you've read my profile.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe one should choose to be kind and to pay it forward. Travel is good for the soul. That being said, I get lots of requests for people to stay, personalizing your request to stay will go a long way!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have landed on peoples couches while traveling a variety of places, and have since hosted people in my home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been hosted by wonderful people while traveling Europe, most notably Francesco in Rome! I have since hosted surfers and I truly enjoy offering them a place to stay, food to eat, a sense of "home" while they charge their batteries and regroup for the next leg of their journey.

Music, Movies, and Books
Too many to list. I'm an avid reader, movie watcher and I appreciate music as well. Musically it depends on my mood, I like classic oldies, light rock, classical and jazz, blues.
I have a wide movie selection and bookshelves over-flowing with books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sky diving was a neat experience. Also flying in a little three seater cessna airplane.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a yoga instructor and love to cook. We could do yoga or make some meals. I'm a volunteer fire fighter and first responder. I love to garden. I enjoy sharing travel stories. I love learning new things.
I am a teacher, I have taught grade 12, 9, 7, elementary teaching grade five/six and now teaching resource.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a bit off the beaten trail, closest to Truro or Parrsboro. If my schedule allows, I can help you a bit with transportation and provide you a bed for your stay. You can make yourself at home and help yourself to all food in my cupboards, I have wifi, and a washing machine and dryer so you can clean your clothes. I also have a beautiful outside shower I adore that you can use.
Note that I have two dogs- Rosie and Bailey- they can be a bit hyper and foolish, Rosie can be a bit nervous as well but they adjust quickly to new company and have never been an issue. They lay on the couches and can be relentless in their mission for belly and ear rubs :) Also because of the dogs, my cat can often seek safety on the tables and counters. Thus there tends to be an endless amount of fur but I do my best to stay on top of it all and value a tidy home!- it can just be a bit "busy" and you want to be comfortable with pets if you crash here.
The spare room is very tidy, with the door staying shut to keep animals out.
