CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME
Hey! I'm an easy-going, kind person doing occasional traveling for conferences as part of my PhD studies. I'd love to meet people who are interested in travel literature, music, art, and anything else that sounds appealing at the moment. I recently quit a stable job to go back to school and be a broke, but over-educated weirdo, so that should say something about where I am in life:)I used to be an A&E freelance writer and academic journal editor. My fave band is spoon, but lately I've been really into jonsi. I've interviewed some famous people, but the coolest people I've met aren't even close to being stars except in their own lives & I'd like to emulate those free-thinkers.

Music, Movies, and Books
anything wes anderson & noah baumbach, plus the standard amelie colorful and whimsical type. music: the good kind. I'm not into making genre calls since you never know what you'll hear that will turn you on. I'm a big, big fan of a lot of music!!! Books, where to begin? lately, Master and Margarita, the Diamond Age, new Don Q, Laurie King Beekeeper series, allende, byatt...this could go on for a while/
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I covered SXSW and a few other major music fests, where I got to meet some of my favorite musicians, which was boss. I've travelled a good amount, but honestly the coolest thing I've ever seen would be like the sunrise in Tulum or some other natural phenonmenon I can't think of right now:)
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach writing, so I guess I could do that anywhere...I also am very loquacious, so I could teach language perhaps. I speak a little French and Spanish. I can also tap dance and horseback ride and a few other odd things/
