About Me

Hey Friends!

My name is Mohamad - I was born in Dubai, UAE. I am half Persian/Egyptian and have lived in the United States since I was four years old. I have an Associates Degree and am pursuing a Bachelors Degree online - so that I may have the freedom to move out and about while receiving an education.

I have an interest in playing an active role in developing communities, and constantly seek opportunities to engage in guided/freelance volunteerism. I am learning to play the guitar, experienced in the ukulele, and love to draw and listen to live music.
Always down to make new friends - I learn more about myself exponentially through different people and really value the exchange of knowledge and experience.

I have not traveled much in my life, only briefly been to California, and have lived in New Jersey for a couple of months through an Americorps term. Even in NJ, it was like a different universe from little old Maryland, and that is just within the United States!
Recently, my friends invited me to travel to Mexico for a few days; naturally, I hopped on the opportunity to visit somewhere outside of the United States. My short time there was indescribable. I loved witnessing the art, food, and customs of Mexico, and it inspired me to join this website and work to explore different cultures throughout the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I have an extraordinarily compelling urge to travel. My goal is to fill in my knowledge gaps about culture, art, and languages that exist around the globe through direct experiences.

There is no better way to travel than through someone who is local and familiar with the area! I truly believe that meeting new people with different cultural exposures are a great way to broaden one's understanding of the world.
