About Me

Hey there! I'm Mohamed Salum , a passionate individual working in impact investment, where I empower entrepreneurs with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed. I’m always on the lookout for meaningful connections and love learning from people from all walks of life.

Fitness is an important part of my daily routine, and you’ll often find me at the gym 6 days a week to stay healthy and energized. I’m also a curious soul who is constantly seeking new experiences, I live in Zanzibar

In my free time, I enjoy immersing myself in different cultures and perspectives. Whether it’s through travel, reading, or engaging with people, I believe everyone has something valuable to teach. I’ve worked in various roles, from reception to hotel supervision, and I love the hospitality industry, which has taught me a lot about welcoming guests and making people feel at home.

I’m new to Couchsurfing, but I’m excited to meet like-minded travelers and share some great experience together🤗

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe that travel is more meaningful when it’s about people and shared experiences. I love meeting new people, exchanging stories, and immersing myself in local cultures. Couchsurfing seems like the perfect way to connect with like-minded travelers, share knowledge, and make authentic connections along the way.

Whether it’s learning something new, offering a helping hand, or simply sharing a good conversation, I’m excited to explore the world through the perspectives of others!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I love a mix of genres depending on my mood! Afrobeats and Swahili tunes are often on repeat, but I’m also into relaxing jazz when I want to unwind or get into the zone.

Movies:
I’m a fan of movies that make me think or inspire me. Documentaries, particularly on social issues or entrepreneurship, are always fascinating. But I also enjoy a good adventure film or feel-good comedy when I want to relax.

Books:
I’m drawn to books that are both informative and inspirational. I enjoy reading about personal development, entrepreneurship, and different cultures. One of my favorites is “The Alchemist”by Paulo Coelho, a timeless reminder about following your dreams and embracing life’s journey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the incredible opportunity to design and implement a competency-based curriculum aimed at empowering entrepreneurs in Tanzania. It was both challenging and rewarding to create something that can make a real difference in people’s lives, helping them gain the skills they need to thrive!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I’m passionate about helping others develop their entrepreneurial skills and mindset. Whether it's offering insights into impact investment, creating a business plan, or even designing a curriculum, I’m always happy to share my knowledge. I can also teach a few Swahili phrases and tips on staying fit and healthy!

Learn:
I’m always eager to learn new things, especially about different cultures, languages, and ways of living. I’m particularly interested in learning more about sustainable living and how people from different parts of the world approach entrepreneurship and community building.

Share:
I love sharing stories and experiences from my travels and work, especially those moments that have helped shape my perspective on life. I can also share some of my favorite fitness routines, and I’d love to exchange music and book recommendations that inspire growth and creativity.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m happy to share stories from my travels and experiences working in impact investment and education, especially how I’ve helped entrepreneurs in Tanzania and beyond. I can also teach some basic Swahili, help with fitness routines, or offer tips on staying healthy and active.

Beyond that, I’m always up for exchanging music playlists, book recommendations, or even trying out new recipes together. I love engaging in deep conversations, whether it’s about entrepreneurship, different cultures, or just life in general!
