About Me

Hello! I'm Mohanad, an Egyptian expat currently living in the beautiful city of Bursa, Turkey.
I’m passionate about building connections and creating a sense of community wherever I go. I run the expat community here in Bursa with the help of some amazing friends, just as I’ve done in Georgia, China, and Cairo before. Meeting new people and learning from different cultures is one of my greatest joys.

If you’re planning a trip to Bursa, feel free to reach out! I’d be happy to show you around, share local stories, and maybe even try out a new adventure together. From exploring historical sites to discovering hidden gems, I’m always up for something fun.

I can host guests with references for 1–2 nights, depending on my work schedule. Looking forward to connecting with travellers, locals, and fellow expats to exchange experiences and create memories!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing to explore the world from a unique perspective—as a traveler who values connections as much as destinations.
For me, the best part of traveling is meeting people from diverse origins and cultures, sharing stories, and learning from each other’s experiences. Whether it’s exchanging travel tips, discovering new traditions, or simply having a great conversation, I believe every meeting enriches the journey.

If you’re a fellow traveler, I’m sure we’ll have plenty to talk about and connect over!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I’m a big fan of Latin music—Salsa and Bachata are my favorites, and I love dancing to them! I also enjoy R&B for its soulful vibe and occasionally dive into trance music for a change of pace.

Books: I grew up loving Harry Potter and still enjoy revisiting the magic of J.K. Rowling’s world.

Movies: I’m a huge Tom Hanks fan! Some of my favourite movies include Cast Away, Captain Phillips, and Forrest Gump. His performances always leave a lasting impression.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve had the incredible experience of paragliding several times in breathtaking locations, soaring above stunning landscapes and feeling the thrill of freedom in the skies.

Another unforgettable chapter of my life has been surviving as a solo traveller in some of the world’s most challenging and remote places. These journeys taught me resilience, adaptability, and the beauty of relying on my instincts while navigating new cultures and environments.

On a different note, I successfully organized the biggest Halloween party in town for three consecutive years, with the help of some amazing friends. Each year, we bring together people from all walks of life to celebrate with creative costumes, fun activities, and a vibrant community spirit. It was a rewarding experience that showed me the power of teamwork and creativity.

Each of these experiences has shaped who I am today and deepened my appreciation for the world and its people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love the idea of exchanging languages and cultural insights—it’s always fascinating to learn from each other. We can explore the local area together, discover hidden gems, or try something completely new and adventurous.

I’m also happy to share some easy recipes from my favourite cuisines or whip up a cocktail for a fun evening. If you have any skills or traditions to share, I’d love to learn from you too! Couchsurfing is all about creating meaningful exchanges, and I’m excited to see what we can teach, learn, and share together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’d love to share my best travel hacks and tips from years of solo adventures—they might come in handy for your next trip! If you’re interested, I can also help you improve your English in a casual and fun way.

And of course, we can cook something different together! Whether it’s trying a dish from my culture or experimenting with new recipes, I enjoy sharing good food and great conversations.
