About Me

I'm Monica, I'm from Croatia, but I've lived in the UK for the last 7 years. I moved to UK for studying and then I didn't know what to do next so I just stayed in UK and now live and work in Bristol.

Bit about me, I'm quite a social person, always surrounded by people, lucky to have my wonderful friends around. But I enjoy and appreciate my alone time too of course, we all need a break sometimes I guess. I'd like to think I'm a chill and laid back type of person, easy to talk to, but sometimes it may seem I'm a bit intense just cos I'm passionate about so many different things that I get a bit too excited sometimes haha. Passionate about life! There's so many things I wanna do that sometimes I think there's not enough time for everything. Also, I'm that kind of person if you come to me with an idea/suggestion even if it's a crazy one, I'm likely to say yes! Because why say no?

I love travelling (of course), meeting new people and sharing experiences with each other, that's the best part probably. I just love people! I've met some amazing people on my travels so far, and hoping to form many more friendships. ✨

I'm always down for an adventure! :)

It's hard to introduce yourself like this to be honest, I could go on and on. So here's a fun fact - Random things I like (a bit too much): trees, frogs and hummus. Don't ask why haha 🐸

__________________________________________

I'm back to Bristol after my travels. Finally settled into a new place, so looking forward to start hosting! I live with 2 other people so you wouldn't be staying with just me, but all of us, so gotta make sure everyone's okay with it every time we have guests. We can host most of the time, just we all work quite a lot so we're not home much, but we're flexible, so just drop me a message and we can work something out. :)

**Update (15/10): We can't host at the moment, as we are getting our roof fixed, so we don't have extra space for guests unfortunately. Hopefully this won't take more than a few weeks. Feel free to message me if you'd like any recommendations for things to see and do, and who knows, maybe I'm free to show you around or just meet up! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wanna meet like minded people and make friends. I like sharing crazy stories and experiences, we can always learn from one another. If we all help each other along the way, we could build a wonderful travelling community!

Interests

I'm a big extrovert, I'm always up for hanging out or doing something together. Love music, going to gigs, books, cinema, musicals, I enjoy art too, I have a big obsession with museums! Food and cooking is one my passions, trying local cuisine is my way to get to know another culture. And since I've become vegan, it's been fun to learn new ways to cook certain things and experiment. And I love spending time in nature, going hiking or camping, that's one of my biggest interests at the moment. I haven't done any big hiking trails yet, but that's the plan for the future soon. I enjoy yoga and meditation, trying to do it more often.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music is taste is all over the place to be honest, I just appreciate any good music. Love going to a jazz gig occasionally

Books, kinda same, interested in many different things, but one of my favourites is probably "Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance"

Don't even get me started with movies, big fan, different genres are good in different ways, so I can't choose favourites

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been St Kilda, a remote island/archipelago in Scotland, only accessible by boat. There's lot of history behind it and seeing it in person was something truly fascinating.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking so I don't mind making food for everyone (be prepared to try some nice vegan food) and hopefully we can hang out together and share some crazy stories :)
