About Me
Hi! I'm Monica and I was born in Canada but I live in Portugal. I live in a village named Benedita and I'm a teacher in different areas such as Arts, Primary School and Special Needs. In my spare time I like to dance, walk in the nature, swim and gather around with my friends. I do volunteer work in a group that protects abandoned animals, dogs and cats. I love to travel but most of all I like to learn about other cultures and habits. I also like to experiment the food and sweets of each place that I travel to. I consider myself to be respectful, responsible and a neat person. But I also love a good laugh and to talk about anything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I heard about Couchsurfing from a friend. I think it's amazing the possibility to enter someones home from the city that we are visiting to exchange life experiences and to have some help with the visit.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like music in geral but have a special favorite towards the influence of jazz, blues, gospel and country music, I guess because of my childhood in Canada.
I also like music I can dance with. Love dancing bachata and salsa.
I like a good movie, it could be in any type. Maybe only terror movies scare me...
I give preference to reading books about psychology.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I loved traveling in Africa and making a safari. Africa and African culture is fascinating.
