About Me

Was born on the Maggies (a very remote and magic island), from a family of insomniac story tellers. If growing up is inevitable, would like to become a spy, a circus artist, Esmeralda, an accordeonist and/or a treasure hunter. Really really passionately wants to live on a sailboat. Until then, travels the world and plays with words. Pays the rent (and the plane tickets) by translating stuff and waiting tables.

Likes cinnamon, winds coming from the south, sparkling eyes, scotch (neat), oversized woolen sweaters, oversized words, and living life like as in a book. Doesn't like hospitals, motivation speeches, alarm clocks, spoiled kids, sneaky gluten, human stupidity and Stephen Harper. But mostly Stephen Harper.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To make more of the journey (ya know, meeting the people), and because discovering the world shouldn't be so damn expensive.

Music, Movies, and Books

-Anything and everything that pushes me to keep on going after the first page while still in the bookstore, from Charles Bukowski to Anna Gavalda, from Jules Verne to Boris Vian to Félix Leclerc.
-Django Reinhardt, Chet Faker, Leonard Cohen, Beatrice Bonifassi, Debussy, Groenland, Richard Desjardins, Deadmau5, Patrick Watson, and the list goes on and on and on...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went travelling for 2 years with $1000. Came back alive! :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach the basics of the languages I know and music theory. Then, there's those random skills I could share... juggling, counting cards, how to fish, prepare and cook mackerel, sailing knots, circus/festivals/theatre make-ups, how to dance salsa/swing, XVII century pirates history... :)

I like to learn, so anything would be great, as long as the teacher is passionate. A new language, or anything about history.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travel stories, service industry stories (you'd be surprised), translating/proofreading services.
I'm very clean and tidy and respectful (I've couchsurfed enough and slept in enough dorms to value these things A LOT).
I'm also a decent cook if you'd like to share a meal. :)
