About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Settling in my new city (Athens)!

ABOUT ME

Hi there, fellow travellers! I'm a 37 y/old French Canadian girl who also speaks English fluently, along with some Spanish (and soon hopefully some Greek, as my kid and I just moved to Athens, Greece. I've grown up in part in Montreal and in part in India, so definitely a hippie-love-child at heart! Although.... I have certain aspects of a city girl too : I love most things vintage, finding the best coffee house around wherever I'm staying, walking endlessly in big streets to small alleyways, saunas, the beach and taking random photos all along the way. I'm very curious, eclectic, sensitive, love people, cats, baking and am creative!

PHILOSOPHY

I strive to be the best person I can be, and always remain open to learning new things about myself, and new things about life; as well as helping people out whenever possible! Pay it forward.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have a beautiful, comfortable house in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. We have hosted folks from around the globe, and love making new friends. I also try and spread the word about this amazing site, I was lucky to hear about myself, from someone I met randomly at a meditation event in Goa a million years ago.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted many international friends that I met from around the globe from all the traveling I've done; I've slept at theirs, and they have slept at mine so I feel like I am a great candidate for this kind of exchange! I've hosted friends and family from across the globe, varying widely in age, gender, religious beliefs, nationality, ethnic and cultural background, etc... All the more interesting actually :)

Interests

Discovering new foods/recipes, scuba diving, biking, dancing, all types of films, photography, animals, learning new languages, music festivals, art in general and in practice, bacci ball, picnics, kayaking, hiking, road-tripping, fashion, etc...

Music, Movies, and Books

MOVIES : My favorite director is Wes Anderson and I've fallen in love with all of his movies including Darjeeling Limited, Life Aquatic, Moonrise Kingdom and the amazing stop-motion film Fantastic Mister Fox! I also love Quentin Tarantino's films and anything really, ranging from obscure documentaries, to horror, to independent or international, or a big American romantic comedy blockbuster. BOOKS : Shantaram, The Life of Plants, Midwifery, Edible plants (foraging), Marie-Antoinette, biographies, anything by Robert Munch, or Roald Dahl, cookbooks(!!!), interior design/decor mags/books, and oh so much more. MUSIC : dancehall reggae, cuban bands, hip-hop, rap, blues, electronic bassy stuff, trip-hop, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Sade, Ani DiFranco, Nirvana, Blonde Redheads, Saint Germain, Poirier, Wolf Parade, Peggy Lee, Memphis Minnie, Joni Mitchell, etc-etc-etc...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the snow monkeys in Yudanaka, after enjoying natural hot water springs in Japan surrounded by snowy mountains with my beautiful friend Keiko!

The birth of my best friend Trinati's baby, Tao; who's umbilical cord I've cut myself! He just turned 13!

The Taj Mahal!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be interested in learning about anything you happen to be passionate about.

I can teach English and French, how to bake various sweets and deserts, or any other dish be it sushi, Thai, Italian, vegan stuff, etc...(I'm pretty good in the kitchen), sewing or mending clothing, and am very good at fashion make-overs! I'm also very sociable and enjoy walking around, discovering new neighbourhoods with a buddy. As a parent with a kids, I would love to host you if you're traveling with your own as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

You'll have a nice warm double sized bed, along with sheets, blankets, a pillow, hot shower/bath, a warm meal and good hang out/conversation? And you'll have to play Legos and/or read some books with my 4 year old son as he's quite sociable as well. :)
