About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Reload the cruising kitty

ABOUT ME

I enjoy traveling, good food, good company, and trees. I spent the summer of 2010 kayaking 2300 miles around the border of Minnesota. It was amazing. I learned a lot about myself. I was met with an enormous amount of kindness from strangers. I only hope I can give a bit of that kindness back to a stranger.

My wife and I spent the winter of 2019 sailing our sailboat from Lake Superior to the Bahamas on our honeymoon. We are hoping this is the start of a long-term liveaboard sailing life for us!

PHILOSOPHY

Bad things only happen when good people do nothing.

Life is a trip, dig it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, my wife and I are available to show people Sturgeon Bay and Door County. Our guest room has been converted into my home office but we may be able to help you find a place to stay!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the summer of 2010 I slept on a stranger's couch about once a week. These were just people who saw me paddling on the river and struck up a conversation. I was completely blown away. It changed my outlook on life. I am so glad there are people willing to give hospitality to a stranger. The whole experience had an enormously positive effect on me. My goal is to be the person giving the hospitality, since I know how great of a gift it is to the stranger.
