About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My wife, Jaime, and I have recently moved in to an old farm in Virginia, and we are excited to bring it back to life by restoring both the home and the land. We have numerous rooms and welcome anyone traveling through the area!

We enjoy cooking new meals, getting outside to be active, and learning about the culture and nature around us. My wife plays multiple instruments so if you play please mention it! I like a good board game in the evenings when I'm winding down.

ABOUT ME

I'm very open to new ideas and opinions. I'm a self described scanner, and I always look for learning opportunities and activities to participate in!

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy life as much as you can without hindering the possibilities for others to do the same. Be selfless in giving positivity to others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

If I could travel all the time I would. The unfortunate reality is that my trips are always too short, and couchsurfing can help me make the most of my visit. I've found that connecting with couchsurfers gives you access to local expert and meet people with similar interests!

Interests

Being outside: rock climbing, mountain biking, playing soccer, canoeing, hiking.

When I'm around my place I brew beer, tend to the chickens, and I'm currently a learning/failing bee-keeper. I cook most of my meals, which many are vegetarian.

If you end up staying, there's a good chance I'll try to convince you to play board games!

I'm involved with my local Sierra Club chapter as the conservation chair, and I participate in promoting new recreation trail building through our local mountain biking club.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all types of music, but classic rock is always my fall back. Led Zeppelin, the Doors, and Pink Floyd are some of my all time favorite artists! I enjoy EDM.

Favorite movie of all time would have to be Forest Gump.

Books... soo many good ones. My most favorite recent read is Lonesome Dove.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a week traveling to islands in the Galapagos.

Rented a tiny car in Pueto Varas Chile, stuffed 3 americans and 2 belgians in it (plus packs), drove a couple hours to Cochomo where we hiked in to the Cochomo Valley to see the "Yosemite" of Patagonia.

Spent the night dancing around fountains in Nice, France with a bunch of happy Swedes during their mid-summer celebration.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm very interesting in sustainable agriculture. I garden and raise chickens for eggs in my "urban farm".
My work deals with growing more food with less water.
I make a pretty mean breakfast burrito.
