The earth is filled with beauty, much of it carried in the hearts of her people. Most of these souls have never uttered a word of my native English, and never will. This should not preclude the possibility of connection, understanding, admiration, even lifelong friendships. Our minds and hearts perhaps work best when we are crossing frontiers, small gifts in hand.
