Overview
About Me
I live with two other people in my own home located in the suburban city of La Mirada, 16 miles southeast of Los Angeles and 6 miles west of the famous Disneyland of Southern California in the County of Orange. Access to bus and other public transport is a few yards away; 15 miles to the beach. I just retired working as a Civil Engineer for a local government agency. I am interested in couchsurfing to be connected to people around the world. I can host and I am looking for a host in other places. I love to explore the nature's beauty. I have traveled by car mostly the western United States up to Vancouver, the mid-states to the northeast of Canada, and the northeastern US. I have visited London and the UK, Paris, Venice-Bologna-Rome in Italy, Vienna Austria, Prague, Sydney and Melbourne. I would like to go and visit the Southeast Asia and the Scandinavian countries. I hope to visit South America. I have worked and lived in Saudi Arabia.
I have been hosting only since I joined CS. Lately, I have a few requests from new members which provided me an unpleasant experience. IF YOU ARE NEW AND HAVE NOT HOSTED, please make sure your profile is complete and convincing and that you are not only asking for a free bed! READ YOUR HOST'S PROFILE before requesting for accommodation! I am an open minded and a just person.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to travel different places. Couchsurfing facilitates affordable travel and interesting experiences to meet different people from around the world with different cultures. One thing I noticed as an older couchsurfer, you don't get hosted as easily as you are young.
Interests
I regularly play tennis on weekends. My latest interest includes investing in stock markets, futures and foreign exchange (would like to learn the last two). Traveling and hiking is another passion. I would like to go fishing either in the lake and the sea.

Music, Movies, and Books
Old time favorites, easy listening
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was able to open my home to strangers/couchsurfers without reservation. One thing separates me from freeloaders is I always respond with a big "Thank You" from hosts that I requested and was denied! That shows finesse as a person.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have not had a lot of significant experiences in life except that I survived from the worst day of my life. I hope to learn from other people of different nationalities, races, and background through CS.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to share stories with hosts on their life experiences. I treat my host's home as my own.
