About Me

My city is the cradle of ancient civilizations, home to the Sumerian culture and over 7,000 years of history. It’s where the first writing system was born, and I’m always excited to show visitors the rich cultural and historical depth of this fascinating place. Whether it's guiding you through the Nasiriyah Museum, exploring the marshes of Al-Chibayish, or visiting the iconic Ziggurat of Ur, I’m here to make your visit memorable. Or, if you prefer, we can simply spend some quality time together and enjoy each other’s company.

I’m looking forward to meeting people from around the world and sharing my love for my city with you!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a diverse range of music, from traditional Middle Eastern tunes that carry the spirit of my culture to modern genres like pop, rock, and jazz. Music that tells a story or has a rich melody always catches my ear, and I love discovering new artists from around the world through my guests.

Favorite Movies: I’m a fan of movies that can inspire or make you think, ranging from classic films to modern blockbusters. I especially enjoy historical dramas, documentaries, and adventure films. Some of my favorites are "Inception," "The Godfather," and "The Pursuit of Happyness." I’m always up for a good movie recommendation or a film night with guests.

Favorite Books: I enjoy reading books that expand my knowledge and offer a new perspective. Whether it’s historical non-fiction, novels, or books on self-improvement, I’m always eager to learn something new. Some favorites include "Sapiens" by Yuval Noah Harari, "1984" by George Orwell, and "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. I’d love to hear what books have inspired you!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing experiences I've had was guiding a group of international visitors through the marshes of Al-Chibayish. We spent the day exploring the stunning natural beauty, learning about the local wildlife, and even sharing a traditional meal with the marsh dwellers. It was incredible to see how fascinated they were by the culture and history of the region, and it reminded me of the power of connecting people through shared experiences. It’s moments like these that make me love being a host and sharing the hidden gems of my homeland.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe in the power of teaching, learning, and sharing as fundamental aspects of meaningful connections.

Teach: I love sharing the rich history and culture of my city, from the ancient Sumerian civilization to the traditional crafts still practiced today. I can teach you about local customs, delicious recipes, and the significance of historical sites like the Ziggurat of Ur.

Learn: Every traveler brings a unique perspective and set of experiences. I’m eager to learn about different cultures, languages, and stories from around the world. I’m particularly interested in understanding local traditions and cuisine, so I’m open to exchanging recipes or even trying out new cooking techniques together.

Share: Sharing experiences and stories is what makes Couchsurfing so special. I enjoy creating a welcoming atmosphere where we can bond over our favorite books, movies, and music. Let’s swap recommendations and explore what inspires us both!
