I find a sense of familiarity at home, but not a true sense of belonging. Being on the road alone, not knowing where I'll land is not a romantic event to impress, but a necessary act to find my way home.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I actually had couch surfed before, been to 3 houses as a guest. But I lost my account so here I'm reincarnated in this new born account. I've couched in Taiwan, Japan and Nepal (for coffee and tea, no stay), and Philippines so far. Most of which have been amazing experiences, which I'm really grateful for. At home in Singapore, I host as actively as I can, it's just difficult to turn down a globetrotter with so much experiences to share! I love meeting people and being proven that empathy and appreciation can transcend differences in identities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

how else do you find people who trust you with where they sleep, and are keen and happy to show you their country, without evil agendas? I mean count me lucky, but so far I've met real kind souls.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

hmmm maybe just being on exchange in Taiwan for 5 months. and meeting lone travellers along the way, when I travel in Vietnam, and Thailand. there's a kind of connection between serious travelers.

uhm..I can teach mandarin, written and spoken. I major in Chinese literature in university, NTU. I try to keep my diet vegetarian, so I can share some places in Singapore that offer good vege food. I'm a Buddhist, so I can share about the culture and architect, and the meaning behind them if we walk into a temple together.
