About Me
Hi there! My name is Myles I'm 26 and currently residing in Sydney. I grew up in Sydney where I was a carpenter for many years but am now studying psychology. I have lived in Germany twice over the last 5 years and I feel like I'm getting pretty at the language now :D Both of my mother's parents were born here in Germany so it's a bit of a back to roots kind of thing. I started learning when I was living in Berlin a few years ago and it sort of blew my mind and it's been a very big interest ever since. Other than that I'm an avid basketball player and have picked up a guitar again recently, I absolutely love to cook and generally just love being surrounded by lovely people. I am quite into rock climbing, yoga and meditation and have been exploring that world the last couple of years and think it a very interesting side to life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The biggest reason I am interested in couchsurfing is to meet German speakers here in Sydney to mutually enjoy the city and nature :) I really miss speaking German so please hit me up and we can go for a bushwalk and speak half German half English! To me there is no better way to explore a place. A city can completely change depending on who shows you it and I'm so excited to meet great people who are passionate about discovering what this city has to offer. I would love to cook something together, or just have a few beers and have a chat and see what happens :D
Interests
Rock climbing is everything...
Guitar is a way to forget about the world
Yoga is a way to bring complete awareness to the body
Meditation is a way to observe the thoughts passing through
Cooking is a way to bring people together
Music, Movies, and Books
Music wise I'm pretty easy but I have a few very favourite movies. The fifth element hands down! Dave Chappell's Bloc Party is amazing and obviously can always always watch Lord of the rings.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I suppose moving to the other side of the world for the second time feels like the biggest achievement so far in my life. The last couple of years while I was in Australia I really wanted to come back to learn the language. And the fact that I followed through with that dream is very satisfying. It hasn't been easy but it's been a challenge and who wants a life without challenges right? :P
Teach, Learn, Share
Always love mutual learning of languages!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I think in general I'm an easy going understanding person and just love to share lovely experiences with people. Nothing makes me happier than to cook for someone or to share an evening together. Nothing is sweeter than just being present with company and forgetting all the problems we create for ourselves.
