About Me

CURRENT MISSION

“I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.” This quote by Susan Sontag just about sums it up for me. I love to travel and meet new people and experience new and different cultures. I am still trying to figure out how to do this full-time.

ABOUT ME

I am not great at talking about myself but I will give it a go. I am a loyal and devoted person and I believe in treating others as I would like to be treated. I respect, I love, I live, I laugh...I enjoy life as much as possible. I try to add something positive to every situation and conversation.

ABOUT US
We are two laid-back, accepting, interesting and fun gals...we are a couple...we have been together for almost 10 years. There are photos of us together but, I want to be 100% transparent so there is no confusion. I know the people that cross our paths will consider this a non-issue, but I felt like I needed to add this information here.

PHILOSOPHY

Why wait? Do it now. Be happy now. Don't let anything hold you back--especially fear! Live! Smile. Laugh. and LOVE! Love makes the world go around and we can never give enough of it away or let enough of it in!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have a couch sometimes (actually an extra room with a very comfy futon) and a door--but share the one bathroom in the very little cottage built in the 1920s. It is our cozy little place that is close to a lot of urban things--we can hear Disneyland fireworks at night (but it is about a 15min drive) and we can be in downtown LA in about 50 minutes--a little longer to get to the fun of West Hollywood. Please note the travel times I referenced above--we DO NOT live in Los Angeles. Public transpertation is horrible in California. If you are looking for a couch in LA, we are not the couch for you. Brea is located in North Orange County...if you are going to Disneyland, we are a pretty good option. Having a car is basically a must in SoCal--there is a bus but I know almost nothing about it and there is a train that runs from LA to San Diego and does stop near our house (Fullerton train station is about 9 miles away). We are sometimes available to show you around or hang out, and we especially enjoy this part of couch surfing. California is beautiful--we love to share. When the "kid" is not home (she is 22), we are much more likely to host...but since it is her room that we would be using, if she is home, we would need to decline your request.

We are hoping to get on some couches very soon as we LOVE the idea of meeting new people and doing new things and the best way is with a LOCAL!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Still working on that part. We surfed the couch of a great guy in Santa Fe, NM...havent had any other opportunities but going to Germany and Czech Republic and Budapest and Austria next month--maybe you can help us expand our Couchsurfing experience!

Interests

I love to experience new things, places, people--anything interesting and exciting! I have been to many countries and met so many amazing people...looking forward to all that is yet to come! I am a very curious person and I believe I can learn something every single day!

Photography--true passion. Sometimes I think I have missed some amazing things because my face is behind the lense, but I also will have the memories captured in time so I guess it is a sacrafice I must make.

I love baseball--If you are not from America and you are a true baseball fan, I already love you!

Scuba diving is something else I love--I dont do it often now because CA water is cold and dark and kind of dirty.

Sailing--I love it! Our plans for a long-term crewing adventure were sidelined, but I have not given up on that dream.

Tattoos--if you have them, like them or want them, I like you.

Open Minds--mutual respect and a general desire to discuss and understand another person's point of view--simply beautiful!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: indie, drums, alternative, classics, 80s, classical--pretty much anything (I will pass on the heavy metal and house music--although I do embrace the "when in Rome..." philosophy). Introduce me to your favorite band or music type!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving in the deepest part of the Pacific ocean, skydiving over Monterey Bay, zip-lining in Costa Rica, sailing the California coast, exploring the islands of Greece and hanging out in Amsterdam are among my all-time favs! Whats next?

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a good helper...I can help cook or clean. If we can contribute, feel free to ask. And I can talk...to almost anyone about almost anything...talking can be good for the soul!
